Well I'm a few days behind in posting, but I am trying to catch up!
Jessica celebrated her 10th Birthday on Aug 2nd and it still seems unreal to me. How in the world did 10 years go by that fast? How is it, on Monday she'll be starting 5th grade? How can I be old enough to have a 10 year old? Oy! She had a great birthday, we celebrated by going to a playdate and taking cupcakes for everyone, they even sang happy birthday to her. We came home and she opened her gifts. She got tons of art supplies, she's very interested in drawing, painting etc and she got some new DS games and accessories. My mom bought her an IPOD and she's been playing with it since she got it. Later that day, we all went to the Chinese buffet for dinner, since it's the birthday girls choice then it was home for Cake!
Tonight is her birthday party with friends. She's got three other girls coming over for a slumber party/dance party. We've got the mirror ball hung, the black lights ready, decorations up and food to eat. I don't foresee much sleep in my future tonight lol. They have some arts and crafts to do, tons of music to choose from and games to play. She and H are excited and have been practicing their dance moves.
I made her birthday cake for the party, it's a jukebox cake. Umm well that's what it is supposed to be. I'll post pics later and you can decide! Thankfully I am not a pro and it shouldn't end up on Cakewrecks LOL.

Happy 5th Birthday H!
Birth 3/4/05
1 Yrs Old
5 Yrs Old
We celebrated H's 5th birthday this past weekend and I really do mean she had a birthday weekend! We let the birthday girl pick the place they want to eat, and she of course chose Applebees. There was no doubt in my mind she would lol it's her favorite place. She liked it even more because they came and sang happy birthday to her and she got free dessert. Can't go wrong with that!
On Friday we had some playgroup friends over to celebrate, they played, they ate, played and ate some more lol and H had a great time. She was sad to see her friends leave though, but soon perked up when she learned she would be going to CEC on Sunday. So bright and early Sunday morning we took the kids to CEC (which who knew they opened at 9 am on a Sunday??) and had the whole place to ourselves for about 45 minutes. PERFECT. We had pizza/breaksticks/drinks and tokens galore and stayed for about 2.5 hours, they loved it. I've always hated that place on weekends, but now know that 9 am on Sunday is the best time to go. They will be begging to go back soon, we still have tokens left!
She got a lot of fun toys for her birthday, I think the "winner" is the zhu zhu pet and house. Oh boy she was so excited opening that present lol now J is jealous and wants to go buy some herself lol. I was thinking maybe the Easter Bunny could bring some. We'll see.
All in all she had a great birthday and see I stressed myself out trying to figure out what to do and in the end she didn't need a huge fancy party just friends and family!

Progress
H's 5th birthday is tomorrow, and while I have made progress on birthday preparations... I am still not ready. That shouldn't surprise many of the people that really know me, since I tend to procrastinate often.
H and I went and picked out cakes (yep plural) for her birthday celebrations on Monday, dh picked them up from the store today. So one thing marked off the list. We decided on two cakes since she wanted to take cupcakes to school to celebrate since tomorrow is a school day (I paid she's going!) and a cake for her party here at the house on Friday. I did manage to plan a small friend party for her on Friday at the house. I wanted to plan it somewhere (Little Gym, etc) but it just wasn't in the budget. We're going to have pizza, fruit, crackers and juice for lunch along with cake, play a couple games and just let the kids play.
Tomorrow evening we'll take her out to eat and let her choose the place. In the last few years it's been Applebees, it's her favorite. So I am sure she'll pick that, but I could be wrong. Not that I have ever been wrong about my children before. Nope not me. I think on Friday I plan to try to take them to go see the Princess & The Frog at dollar movies, if its still playing. On Sunday morning, the plan is to take H to Chuck E Cheese (Chunky n Cheese as H calls it) and do the lunch coupon thing with tokens. She's been begging to go there, and I hear Sunday morning usually isn't to busy.
That will conclude the 5th Birthday Celebration!

Slacker Mom Award of the Year
I just won it.
H's birthday is in 15 days, count them, yes 15 days and I have done absolutely nothing in preparation for this. It's her 5th birthday, special because she is officially a big girl and gets to go off to Kindergarten this fall. I wonder if I will remember to register her this fall? Maybe if I put a giant post it note on the bathroom mirror I have to see everyday? Fingers crossed.
I can't believe I am not ready, J's birthday last year snuck up on me too and we just ended up with a small family thing, she was happy but still. Life just happens sometimes and I feel awful and definitely feel like a slacker mom right now. To be fair I have been thinking about her birthday and what to do, who to invite etc but can't seem to pinpoint the date, time, invite list.... my life is consumed by soo much right now. Sadly it's not going to slow down.
HELP!

Happy 4th Birthday Hailey
March 4, 2009~Today we celebrated Hailey's 4th Birthday! I can't believe she's 4 already, it seems like just yesterday she was born. She will start Moms Morning Out in the fall, 2 days a week for 4 hours each day. While I am sad to think she'll be going off to school, I know its a step in the right direction for her to start kindergarten in 2010.
Here are some pics to enjoy!

Weekend Update
I feel like I am doing the skit on Saturday Night Live , here's Frances with your weekend update. Turn and face the camera and start in on some crazy story. Hmm nope not on the agenda today.
So it's been a busy weekend to say the least at our house. Friday night we worked on the house more trying to make sure we get everything done by Sat Aug 9th to put it on the market. Along with staying up way to late wrapping presents for Jessica's birthday on Saturday made for a long and slow weekend.
Her birthday went well though, she woke up surprised with her presents and loved them all. Almost every single item she got was Hannah Montana related or High School Music related, no joke! She is in LOVE with her Hannah Montana electric guitar she got from her Nana. It's pretty cool, it has a headset that has a mic and it does work so she can sing along with Hannah. The only downfall to this is the headset is made for a baby's head. The top part does not expand like normal headsets do so the ear pieces do not meet her ears. So we improvised and she wears it around her neck and bends the mic up to her mouth.

She really wanted a High School Musical party but we couldn't find a store with the cake decorations in stock! UGH I was mad especially since I had already bought some HSM party decor. So she settled for a Hannah Montana meets High School Musical party lol HM cake and HSM decor.

We took her out to dinner at Applebees and it was pretty good, and thankfully Hailey is getting better about eating and being good when we go out! It was dead when we got there at 5 so service was fast and the food hot. The girls had dessert there, though not sure why since we had cake and ice cream at home from the party earlier lol.
Her big finish for the night was to have a movie night complete with popcorn and in the dark lol so we rented Waterhorse and popped up some corn and watched the movie. It was pretty cute, kinda of scary at parts for smaller kids, a couple times Hailey would come hide her eyes. Sad to see my baby turning 8 but she's growing up so fast and it's definitely bittersweet.
Sunday was pretty much same ol same ol, working on the master bedroom now, packed up majority of the stuff and have started painting. Then we'll only have the floors left to finish! Gosh I hope this house sells quickly!
