Christmas Shopping Done!

Yes I am happy to say that I am pretty much done for the girls! I am excited I never get done so early, and I was actually done about a week and half ago now!! Whohooo go me! I feel we didn't overspend on the girls this year, which we couldn't afford to anyway with my hearing aids needing to be paid for.

I won a Rose Petal Cottage off of Ebay for Hailey, and I know she'll love it. It was supposed to be a Santa Gift BUT Jessica was home when I won it and I was so excited I got sidetracked...so now it's just from us LOL dang it! So now Hailey will get something much smaller from Santa. Jessica is getting a Mio Pup from Santa, they are cute but for $50.00 I was like umm no. I tried to win one off of Ebay but I refused to pay that much for shipping when I could get it at the store unlike the Rose Petal Cottage.

We were back at Walmart the other day grocery shopping and we always just browse toys so the girls will be good. They had marked the Mio Pups on sale to $29.98 or something of that nature....which was $16 less than we had paid the week before! So hubby goes and gets a price adjustment for it so yay I didn't have to spend $50!

I have 2 Rose Petal Cottages right now, the one I got off ebay and then one that I got from Target.com because I got notified it was back in stock online. So now I am trying to get rid of one on Ebay but not having such goodluck. I just really want to get what I paid for it, not overpricing it like so many others are doing. Hopefully it'll sell very soon!

Hubby and I aren't exchanging gifts this year, really no money to do so. It's sad not to have anything to open on Christmas but you get used to it as an adult. Our Christmas present together will be getting my hearing aids and hopefully him finding out he gets his promotion in Jan. instead of March. Fingers crossed but not banking on it til he signs the papers.

Hope everyone has a happy holiday!

My New Blog

Well I finally got my new Hearing Loss Blog set up and the post from here copied over to the new one. If you are interested in checking it out and maybe bookmarking it you can see it at
Hear Today Gone Tomorrow . I thought the name was fitting since I feel that way of hearing one day and then nothing the next day, though I just didn't realize it.

I hope to update that blog once a week, though we know I procrastinate alot on blogging lol but I do try. Sometimes there isn't anything interesting to post lol but I guess I will try to do better.

So check out my blog feel free to link me or even consider exchanging links if you have a blog of similar interest.

My Dear Santa Letter and Wish

All I want for Christmas this year is my 2 Hearing Aids so I can hear my children, family and friends when they speak to me instead of having to ask them to speak up so I can hear them. Is that to much to ask for? I guess it could be when it'll cost $4300.00 in order to get my hearing aids.

So today was my follow up appointment with the audiologist aka the hearing aid dr. I went to find out what the next step would be, ordering, payments etc so I could see where we stood. After looking at the many different types of h/a's I decided on the over the ear type since I have long hair and almost always wear it down. These were no more expensive than the in the ear kind so I figured why bother paying more.

Granted the price wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined but that's still alot of money at Christmas time especially when you don't have the funding to pay it. I will be visiting the bank fairy as I like to call them and praying we can get a loan to cover them and actually be able to afford the payments. Our credit isn't the best though it's not terrible but ya know how banks are.

This has been a hard road to travel becoming deaf at approx 27 yrs old though I didn't know til I was 30. My first clue should have been when I was pregnant with my youngest because I started noticing that my ears seemed to be stopped up. I had and have been having terrible sinus/allergy problems so I contributed it to that. When I was working in 2004/2005 I did notice my hearing when I was on the phone was starting to be worse but I didn't think anything of it.

Fast forward to after my little one was born, our tv volume has the numbers on it. I used to be able to hear it at 28 to 30 and thought anything over 30 was very loud....right now I have to listen to it at 45 plus in order to hear it. My hearing disorder is progressive meaning it'll continue over time to worsen, but thankfully the hearing aids will be able to be adjusted to that.

I am working on moving all my hearing problem posts over to my blog that I started call, Hear Today Gone Tomorrow...thought it was fitting. So I'll post when that blog is up and there's something to read on it.

Wish me luck on my hearing aid money situation. If you are in the holiday spirit and have a little girl who would love a Rose Petal Cottage I have one on ebay to raise money for my h/a's.
You can check it out here.

Hello December!

Wow time is sure flying by is all I can say, it seems like just yesterday was the beginning of November. Just about 15 days of school left until Winter Break! I am pretty excited this year right now anyways because my mom, stepdad and sister will be spending Christmas with us here at our house. This will be the first time in over 10 years that I have seen my mom on Christmas Day. The girls are very excited about getting to see Nana and Papa and Auntie Lauren.

We finished up Christmas shopping yesterday and I feel we did pretty good and didn't overspend to bad. Maybe $150 on each one which is way less than last year. I can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning, going to be exciting! This is also the first time that I have cooked a family holiday dinner! So glad my mom will be here to help LOL.

I was just sitting and daydreaming about the girls and realized that in 10 years Jessica will be graduating from high school and hopefully starting college! Insane and the fact that Hailey would start high school that same year! Arrggh have I mentioned that my baby is going to be 3 in March?? That's really hard for me to believe!

I also think she's at a perfect age (except when being a typical 2 yr old toddler), she loves to learn, sing, dance and have fun! She just makes me heart melt when she runs up and gives me a big hug and says I love you Mom. Awww, makes me a bit misty eyed.

Hailey is also doing very well with her ABC's, stumbles a bit over the L-M-N-O-P but what kid doesn't in the beginning? I have been working on them with her and she can now almost sing it all by herself. She also can count to 13 most times by herself and when she's in trouble and I start to count 1-2- she keeps going 3-4-5- etc lol hard to stay mad when she makes me giggle. She is becoming quite the little girl, loves to play with her babies and play house and still a rough and tumble girl too!

Jessica is doing very well in school, 2nd grade and is going to be tested for the gift program apparently. They sent a form home about a week or so ago asking if we wanted her to participate in that. I am excited to hear back the results. She's been on the honor roll every year and loves to read and learn new things. She's also growing up way to fast! She's so tall and so smart but time is going to fast for me.

Hmm anything else interesting? Just waiting to see if hubby will get his promotion in Jan rather than Mar, and hope to find out mid December. It would be great to know sooner than later! I pray he does so we can pay down the cc's and fix up the house and move into a much bigger house. We have outgrown this one soo much so I am looking fwd to a new one.

Guess thats about it on the home front, and hopefully I can do better at posting.

PS. Yes we finally had a family portrait done for Christmas. They turned out pretty good, I'll post pics tomorrow.

Back to the HA Dr

Well I have made a follow up appt with the hearing aid dr on Dec 5th to find out the sticker shock for the 2 hearing aids I need. I really don't know how we are going to pay for them, but I guess we'll try to figure something out. I may only get 1 for my really bad ear and go from there until its paid off and then get the other one.

I am so frustrated with the government and insurance companies. All of these places to do grants, supply hearing aids or help cover the ha's are for kids, elderly or low income people. So if you are like me just middle class America and can't afford to pay for it you are screwed. Lovely. I can't believe theres not a foundation out there to help EVERYONE in need regardless if they are low income or whatever.

I don't live extravagantly, we do not live in a fancy large house or drive new expensive cars but yet we can't afford the hearing aids. We have 2 kids, and I stay home in order to be with my kids. If I had the way and time I would start a foundation that helps people get hearing aids without the "typical" rules that apply every where else.

I'll be sure to post when I find out the results of the cost.

November Has Arrived!

I guess I should say that Fall/Winter weather anyways! We had such a record breaking heat record this past summer that went on thru most of Oct that I am having a time adjusting to this um Fall weather? I guess you could say it's Fall but it's feeling more Winter like. The high today was supposed to be around 54, not sure it got there or not. It was breezy all day and quite cool out, I believe it's gonna be in the umm high 20's tonight?? Does that sound like Fall in the South? LOL I think not!

So Turkey Day is around the bend and I have no clue what we are going to do. I am to stressed right now trying to figure a way to come up with the $$ to cover my hearing aids. I think we are going to have to take a loan out and go that route. :( I am not looking forward to that, been putting off calling the H/A dr back and finding out the next step.

Hailey was sick over the weekend and gosh on Sun night she went to bed at 10 pm and slept til Noon and then ate 2 pieces of toast and drifted to sleep at the table lol. She then slept on the couch til 3. I was in complete utter shock! She's never slept that much even when she was sick prior. I am guessing it was just a stomach bug, she's all better and typical toddler today.

Jess is doing well in school, got her report card a few weeks ago. She had all A's and 1 B, so not to terrible. Oh and her 3rd tooth came out this past Friday night while we were at dinner no less. She's been complaining and complaining how it hurt and hubby even tried to pull it on Thurs night. He couldn't get a tight enough grip though, but she bit into a ROLL and it came out LOL. He must have gotten it pretty dang loose though!

Well that's about it in a nutshell for now, will be back soon with more!

Decisions on Hearing Loss Disorder

I have been thinking for a week or so now trying to decide what to do about my hearing situation. I have not had the appt with the surgeon yet, however I do not think that is the way I am going to go. I have been weighing out all the options I know of right now between the two choices, hearing aids or surgery. The hearing aids are definitely the front runner right now not only will it be an instant gratification of sorts, there is no risk involved.

I am just hesitant about the surgery because of the recovery time and the length of time it takes to find out if the my hearing will be correct. Up to 4 months before I would know from what I have been reading. Then of course there is the risk of losing my hearing completely in the ear they do the surgery on OR even having to have the surgery redone later in life.

I am still planning on going to the surgeon just to find out more about the surgery, however since the insurance doesn't cover it I am still leaning towards NOT doing it anyway. I'll be post when I know more but it will not be til after Nov 14th.

Meanwhile I have been researching the Internet trying to find places with online support groups and what not but truly I have only found places for parents of deaf children or those who are completely deaf. So I decided to create a message board for everyone with hearing disorders no matter the type or age. If you are someone who has a hearing loss disorder or have a family member or friend who could benefit from some support please pass this on. You can find the message board here . I hope it can help someone such as myself.

Hearing Disorder Support

I have been searching for a couple of days now for online support groups for adults with hearing disorders and to be honest there really isn't to many for those with disorders and not completely deaf. I came across many many groups for parents of deaf children, for adults that are deaf but I couldn't find one I truly felt like I could fit into.

My "disorder" is a progressive one called stapedial otosclerosis and from the House Clinic.com site states:

"Otosclerosis is an abnormal, microscopic growth of bone in the walls of the inner ear. This abnormal growth causes the stapes bone (also called the "stirrup") to become immobile or "fixed". Normally the stapes vibrates freely to allow the transmission of sound to the inner ear, but when it cannot move, it prevents sound waves from reaching the inner ear fluids, and hearing is impaired.

Otosclerotic bone sometimes involves other structures of the inner ear, thereby affecting the nerves of the inner ear. When this occurs it also causes a distortion or difficulty in understanding the speech of others, regardless of how loudly they talk.

Otosclerosis affects only the ears and usually involves both ears. It occurs in men and women with almost equal frequency and usually begins in the teens or early twenties. Although otosclerosis tends to run in families, there is no pattern to its heredity."

"Stapedial OtosclerosisUsually otosclerosis spreads to the stapes or stirrup bone, the final link in the middle ear transformer chain. This stapes rests in a small groove, the oval window, in intimate contact with the inner ear fluids. Anything that interferes with its motion results in a conductive hearing impairment. This type of impairment is called stapedial otosclerosis and is usually correctable by surgery.

The amount of hearing loss due to involvement of the stapes and the degree of nerve impairment present can be determined only by careful hearing tests."

You can read more at House Clinic about the two treatments that are available to those with my disorder. Hearing aids or surgery which is called a stapedectomy.

My ENT told me that it was a hereditary disorder so not sure what to think about that but my mother is hard of hearing in her left ear which is also my worst ear. Either way I am losing my hearing and honestly it's much worse than I had anticipated when I went to the ENT.

These 2 charts show a difference in hearing normally and below normal. The first chart shows db at 20 or less that is normal range of hearing. The second shows the db down to 50 this shows hearing loss.

My personal chart was in the 80's which is Severe Hearing Loss. That means I do not hear normal range of sound, if you are across the room and talking to me in a normal voice I will not hear you. In fact my range of hearing never got above below avg hearing mark even on the highest pitch sounds.

So those of you who know me and talk to me via phone or in person know that I am not ignoring you I really can not hear you. I hope this helps explain my hearing loss a bit better.

Down and Out

Well I thought today was going to be a pretty decent day, had to go to the hearing aid specialist for a consultant at 1 pm and really thought the worst news would be how much the hearing aids would cost. Oh how I was wrong.

The hearing aids are quiet expensive and considering I need 2 of them we are looking at $2600 to $6000 a pair. Yes you read that right. I have been doing some research online the last few days and generally reading said that most insurance companies do not cover the cost of them. I am not sure why, because it's not like its a vanity item it's something required to hear and function in life.

Well we came home from the dr appt and hubby called the insurance company and lo and behold they do not cover the hearing aids. The company hubby works for does not have any type of hearing policy so no insurance for that. Ok fine, I kind of figured we would have to pay if we chose to go this route.

So the news that really pissed me off was the fact they will not cover the surgery for the stapedectomy. What the hell? It's a surgery it's not like its for a nose job or a boob job, its so I can function and live and be able to hear. I am so mad and so upset it's not even funny. I can't imagine the cost of the surgery, so it looks like I will definitely have to go the hearing aid route which I was sorta leaning towards BUT I shouldn't have to.

There's my rant for the day and I am now trying to figure out how in the world I can cover the cost of the 2 hearing aids I need and still pay down the credit cards I was working on.

Fall Break and Summer Weather

The time has come for fall break and cooler weather..mm hold on cooler weather? Where? Definitely not so much in Alabama. Now it has been cooler than it had previously been this summer when we had 30 days of over 100 degrees but come on it's October, time for the leaves to change and the coolness to set in!

This past Saturday we went to the local pumpkin patch and it was um 90 outside and sunny! Last year we went on the exact same weekend and we were bundled up due to the cool/cold weather. It's funny looking at the pics from last year and this year. We had a great time except for the heat saw a few friends there and got some pumpkins. I always look forward to going but think I may want to try go back again before they close for the year when it does cool off.

Here is a few pics from Sat of the girls.

Thankful Tuesday

I have decided that every Tuesday will be Thankful Tuesday so I can remind myself of what I have and should be thankful for it. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in drama, life or bad situations that we forget all the things we do have.

Today I am thankful for:
  • A loving husband who loves me no matter what
  • 2 great fun and loving kids who love me unconditionally
  • A caring family who is concerned for my well being
  • Friends both online and in real life who are always there for me no matter what the day may bring.
  • A house to provide shelter
  • A car to come and go as I please
  • Being able to stay home with my wonderful kids

I am also glad that my oldest was able to go to school today! hehe Ok I had to throw that in! We have a fairly busy week this week, I have a baby shower tomorrow, Jess has Brownies on Thurs afternoon and then Friday is payday/shopping for groceries AND we are supposed to go to the pumpkin patch on Sat!

Have a great Tuesday!

Fall Television....My Must See TV

I am so glad that the fall season has started on TV, I was so tired of the reruns and I don't even get to watch that much! There are a few shows though that I MUST watch! Here's a quick run down:

  • Grey's Anatomy
  • LOST
  • Ugly Betty
  • Private Practice
  • October Road (I hear it's coming back!)

Those are the only ones I really care to keep up with and would watch other's if I had the time. This past week was the premiere week for most shows as far as I know, or atleast a few of mine! I love Private Practice already, this show includes the character Addison Montgomery-Shepard from G.A. and includes Tim Daly, Taye Diggs and a few other big names as co-actors. It's funny and it's hard not to like the wacky characters.

I am excited for this weeks shows and I know fellow watchers are too!

Happy October!

The fall season is approaching and the temperatures are dropping! Finally after 30 straight days of over 100 temps in August I am looking forward to nice cool fall weather. I can't even imagine being in places like Hawaii (where my mom is) and not having any seasons except for Summer. Yes I know Hawaii, how cool but a Christmas that's not cool atleast? I don't think I would like that very much and would have to come back over and spend the holiday season.
I love Fall, the leaves change and the weather is more enjoyable. It's a great time to take the kids out to play at the local parks, to bike ride or just to hang out in the back yard. Plus we get to bring out all the fall decor and Halloween decor for those who celebrate. I haven't really decorated in a few years but I would like to some nice fall decor as opposed to Halloween items.
This year Jessica has decided to be Hannah Montana for Halloween, now I could have come up with this costume myself hehe since it's just a shirt/skirt and belt BUT the belt does say Hannah Montana. Oy! So glad the costume was on sale! Hailey is either going to be Jasmine or Ariel, but I am leaning towards Jasmine since it'll be easier to walk in. We got them both 2 costumes each and the other will go up til Christmas time. They both love to dress up and what better time to buy than at Halloween? Party City had a great deal on some for 50% off, so we got them at $9.99 each! For Disney costumes NOT bad!
Jessica is feeling a bit under the weather today, running a temp of 102.6 and complaining of a sore throat and head hurting. I am hoping it's not strep and she'll be able to return to school tomorrow but if her fever stays up, she'll be visiting our great pediatrician instead.
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Babies, Babies Everywhere Babies!

Oh my lol I know about 14 or so pregnant ladies right now in my moms group and more and more keep popping up! We had a baby shower for 6 of our moms last night that's due the next few months and it was great fun! We had 20 ladies and lots of food, games and fun.

I think the shower went well, we played a word search game, find the safety pins in the rice, the clothes pin game and the dirty diaper game. The most fun was the diaper game! If you haven't ever played it, here's the gist of it. You get about 7 to 10 different chocolate candy bars (Twix, Snickers etc) and some newborn diapers. Take the candy bar or a piece of the candy bar and put in the diaper and then nuke it in the microwave for about 15 secs. Check on it and continue to microwave a few secs at a time until melted ooey gooey goodness LOL or messiness. Some of these will LOOK very disgusting. That's the idea! Number your diapers and make a list of the answers for yourself. Pass the diapers around to your guests and have them make their guess. They can open them, look, smell and even taste if they choose. Then they'll write down their guess to which candy bar it is. The person with the most right wins! I suggest having a tie breaker diaper just in case. We had lots of laughs with this game.

I thought for sure with all these babies I would have baby fever and I do to a certain degree but not bad. Hubby and I can't decide if we are done with having kiddos or not. I am about 60/40 right now with yes, but it all depends whether or not hubby gets his promotion and we move next year. We shall see!

On a brighter note

My Tupperware business has been going well. I had 2 parties in September and have 1 coming up in Oct and likely 1 in November as well. I am having awesome sales and Tupperware has had some awesome discounts and specials for my customers. I am also trying to do a couple vendor shows this fall, even if I do not get sales I am hoping to plant the seeds.

I am so glad that I made the decision to join Tupperware because it's really made me appreciate a long time business and even though people get antsy about joining it's a great company. I really suggest taking your time and looking into any business you are interested in and see if its the Perfect Fit for you.

Follow up with ENT

Well the news not so good... I am apparently pretty deaf in both ears with my left ear being the worst. It seems to be a hereditary issue as my mom is deaf in her left ear (she could have surgery) and also being fair/blonde is another factor per the dr. I had to do a hearing test that lasted about 30 mins between both ears and couldn't hear quite a bit of the sounds etc they were doing.

I have 2 options to "remedy" the situation. I can either have surgery in both ears to try to fix it or I can get hearing aids for both ears. I have not decided what I am going to do at this point, I am a bit down right now as I was worried that my hearing problem was serious. I do have a consultation with the hearing aid specialist in early Oct and then the surgeon in early Nov and once I weigh out all the options then I will make a decision on what to do.

The surgery isn't a "major" one, however 1% of the patients lose total hearing in the ear. If I was to have it done I would start with my left ear since its the worst , literally can barely hear anything at all. The dr showed me the chart on where I tested at, and there is the gray area which is average and anything in that is good, but I can barely hear the "average" on any of the sounds they were all below average and my left ear was way below closer to being zero hearing I think.

The name of the problem is Stapedial Otosclerosis if anyone is curious. I appreciate everyone's kinds thoughts as the last 2 days has been kind of rough.

Trying to catch up

Well it's been a month since I last posted and that's not good! I am trying to post a few times a week but life got in the way. Unfortunately I am still battling the sinus issues and that has been rough. I finally made an appointment with the doctor and went this past Tuesday to check my hearing, change my allergy meds and had them look at this rash on my foot. They did change my medicine from Allergra D to Zyrtec so hopefully it will help. The Allergra D was keeping me up most nights so then I was taking Melatonin to help sleep! I also got some cream for my foot thing so hopefully it'll clear up.

On a brighter note I have an appointment with the ENT tomorrow morning for my hearing. I don't know if I posted about being a bit deaf in both of my ears or not but apparently I am. I have been having trouble for the last year or so and really should have already gone in, but I was scared. My hearing in my opinion is pretty bad, I can't hear it thunder, I can't hear the tornado siren that's 2 blocks or less from my house (if I am inside) and I can't hear ambulances or firetrucks that are less than 20 ft from me when I am in my car. So I am very worried about what I'll find out tomorrow.

I'll be back tomorrow to update from my doctor appointment. Keep me in your prayers and/or thoughts if you are inclined.

The FURminator~money well spent

No it's not a bad spoof of The Terminator! It's a deshedding tool used on pets. The FURminator is a bit pricey, around $25 for the small to $45 or more for the large tool but in my opinion so far it's been worth every penny! We just recently purchased this item and bought the smaller one for $49.99 (priced higher in store than online!) for our short hair dog (lab mix).

He has a terrible shedding problem and even brushing him on a daily basis does not get rid of the excess undercoating. He would still have huge tufts sticking out that you could literally pull out with your fingers. We have to vacuum and swiffer on a daily basis or we are over run with dog hair. We used the Furminator for the first time yesterday and WOW what a huge difference it made. There were no extra tufts of fur left and he looked so pretty after we got done.

We also noticed a difference in his behavior while using a regular dog brush and the Furminator, he would try to run away with a regular dog brush. However with the Furminator he just laid there and let us brush him out.

So what exactly does that Furminator do? Here is info copied from the PetSmart Website:

"Reduces shedding up to 90%! Removes undercoat and loose hair without sacrificing healthy top coat. The stainless steel edge deShedding Tool does not cut hair, it just gently pulls out the fluffy undercoat, leaving the topcoat shiny and undamaged. Leaves coat shiny and shed-free.
The patented design helps stop shedding where it begins in the undercoat to dramatically reduce the mess and clean up of unwanted pet hair. Helps create a shed-less environment by reducing the amount of dander and hair, making it the ideal tool for allergy sufferers. Designed for use on both long and short-haired pets.

The tool will work on all shedding dogs and even on some traditionally "hair-cut-only" dogs, like Terriers and Spaniels to coarsen the coat and blend clipper tracks. A few breeds that are typically not good candidates for the FURminator Shed-Less Treatment are Poodles, Shih Tzus, Maltese, Bichons, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Irish Water Spaniels.
For best results, use in conjunction with FURminator deShedding Shampoo and FURminator deShedding Solution (both sold separately)."

Current rating on PetSmart site: 4.9 stars out of 5! 98% of the customers said they would recommend this product to their friends.

We did purchase the waterless shampoo and conditioner to assist with the deshedding because my dog hates water and baths are difficult to give. I highly recommend trying this product out if you have an animal who sheds alot. Though the price is high it has proved to be worth it and if the sticker price still bugs you check on ebay!

I'll tell you, I was checking out a large work at home board and had seen people refer to Pay Per Post quite a bit but I thought for sure that you had to be a very experienced writer and it would be tough to get in. I was so wrong! It does help to be a writer, one who can engage their audience and make them want to read and learn more, but you do not have to have 5 or more years of experience. I really recommend that anyone who likes to write and has a blog to check out this opportunity and being to earn some revenue for your blog.

I love when things come together!

Don't you? I have been trying to work my Tupperware business the best I can considering how busy I have been and really hadn't done any home parties but my grand opening one. So it's a new quarter so time for a party so I'll meet my goals and not become inactive. I posted on my moms group that I was getting ready to plan my next TW party in Sept and wanted to know who might be interested in attending or hosting to email me. Quite a few are interested in attending plus I know the ones from earlier this year are as well. Then two of the girls offered to host a party!! YAY! That's awesome because that means the sales will definitely come!

Now I have to get my butt in gear, I have catalogs on order but I need to put all my party folders together, order forms etc so I am organized for the parties. I am trying to think of some fun games that people will not find boring, especially since they can win free Tupperware! What's better than FREE? Nothing in my book!

I have thought about doing a theme party as well but I need to do some research on the Tupperware forums and see what has worked or not for others. I love that we have somewhere to read all these great ideas and use them. Since they will be weekend parties, I was thinking of a fun girls night out but not sure lol since there's gonna be pregnant ladies there too.

I also had a contact last week from my website who wanted to place an order. That's great because shes local and she works at a doctors office so I left some catalogs for them to look at. Hoping to get more orders or maybe even a party out of it! Keep planting the seeds and they'll come!

Get Paid To Blog

I have been searching for a way to earn extra money online outside the normal home business ventures or network marketing ideas. While searching and reading through my friends blogs I noticed someone had posted they were using Blogsvertise as a source of income.

Blogsvertise is an advertising service in which you can get paid to write reviews on products, websites or services by posting about them in your personal blog. So essentially you can earn revenue just by writing as I am now for various companies. Blogsvertise is free to sign up for and quite simple. You must already have a blog and if you do not you will need to create one in order to sign up.

While you will not get rich by writing for Blogsvertise you can earn some extra cash each month. You can earn between $4-$25 per entry for new accounts and by writing just 10 tasks you can earn anywhere from $40 to $250 a month. Rates will vary depending on the popularity and traffic of the blog.

If this sounds like something you are interested in then don't delay in signing up! The sooner you sign up at Blogsvertise the sooner you can begin to earn revenue on your blog.

Harry Potter

Oh how I am sad to see Harry Potter (the series) come to an end. I ordered the newest and last book thru Amazon and it came in on Saturday late in the day. I started reading it on Sunday and got done in about 6 hours or less and this is a book over 700 pages!

I loved the book and the ending was quite surprising and the story did wrap up the story lines that's been going since Day 1. I would really recommend going back and reading at least the Order of the Phoenix before the latest book so you remember who people are. It's been over 2.5 yrs since I read the last one and it took me awhile to catch up.

I just read how there were at least 100 copies of the book that were missing pages, I would have totally freaked out to be reading along and then find missing pages! I think I would have just cried lol.

I really enjoyed the book and am getting together with some other Harry fans this week to discuss the last book and interested to find other's opinion on Harry and friends!

Loving My Computer!

Oh yes my Dell laptop finally arrived and it was a day earlier than they said it would. So that was definitely a nice surprise! This one is soo much faster than the other Inspirion I had and bonus it weighs less and has a nicer screen. We bought one of those plastic covers that go over the keyboard too. Apparently the black keys with white writing rub off way faster than the normal keyboard colors. So this will help the wear of that and it will keep things from getting in to the keyboard.

The only downfall is that when we transferred everything over it will not let me open my old filing cabinet on AOL, it kept my address book and favorites but not the emails. It really makes me mad because there are emails I have to have that's on that computer. So now I'll be copying and pasting into new emails and resending to myself. This will only take hours and hours. Anyone have ideas? I am open to new suggestions.

Happy 4th of July!

Today is that special day where we celebrate our freedom and always give our support to our country and fellow soldiers fighting for us!

I hope that everyone will celebrate safely and enjoy this free day and spend time with their loved ones. I love watching fireworks on the 4th but this year a severe drought has rained on our parade so to speak. They cancelled almost every fireworks show we had scheduled this year due to the lack of rain. We haven't had but maybe 1 day of good rain and it dried up quickly.

Go eat, be merry, be safe and enjoy!

Goodbye Fishy

My dd's pet goldfish died a few days ago, she came out of her room and had tears in her eyes. Poor fishy, poor dd, she said "mom I think my fish died". I was like umm is it floating at the top? She said "no" at the bottom.... Ok so I thought fish died and then floated at the top of the water? Not hers, kinda tilted on the side and gone.

So hubby came home and they buried him out in the back yard, she didn't want to flush him. LOL She is already talking about getting another goldfish. After all this one lived for a year and half! That's along time in fish years. .....

So Flipping Mad!

OMG so mad so mad! I ordered a Dell laptop on June 6, the estimated ship date was June 16th. Sounds good right? Yeah to good to be true more like it. So the 16th arrives and I log on to see if it has shipped yet. Nope, nada, no updates, nothing. Then the next day I log on again, oh great it's been delayed til the 22nd of June. Hmmm ok as long as it ships I tell myself. So guess what?? Today is the 22nd, I log on and do you know what I find???

There has been a delay in the processing of your order, you need to consent for this delay, consent for this delay and any other delays or cancel this order. If you do NOT consent by the previous ship date we will be forced to cancel the order.

Why the hell did they not send me an email? What if I had checked the order tomorrow the 23rd and it said cancelled? Lack of customer service right there. I am furious, beyond furious. I would NOT have ordered a new computer if I didn't need one. My damn backspace button is broke and not fixable and you know you can't live without that damn button. Had it been the Q button, the CTRL button sure I could have dealt, but NOOOOOOOOO.

They ought to give me some damn discount for all this trouble!

Always a nice surprise

When you wake up and check your website to see if you have any orders come in. I was pleasantly surprised this morning with 2 orders that equaled over $150.00. I just wish that people would leave their contact info, just email address so I could send a thank you note. I guess this day and age everyone is worried they will sign up for something or get bombarded with emails. Can't say I blame them though I have had that happen as well.

I am finishing up my first quarter with Tupperware late July and I am already at $1000 in personal sales. Not to bad I must say, much better than I did with any other business I have been in over the last few years. I also must let you know that I only held 1 home party and the rest of the sales have been from Internet sales. :)

I hope that everyone is achieving their goals this year, I hope to double my sales next quarter!

Rain Sweet Rain!

Oh yeah I woke up this morning and looked outside and down came the rain! We here in Alabama are experiencing a severe drought. So bad in fact they have pretty much banned all fireworks and cancelled the public showings. Not going to be a typical 4th of July for sure.

Though now it looks like the rain has stopped, so I am sure the sun will come out and heat up everything....why can't we have some normal weather? It was nice while it lasted I suppose!

Knocked Up!

Nope I am not Pregnant! I saw that movie a few weeks ago and LOVED it! I can't say enough good things about it! It's funny, laugh out loud funny and hope you aren't the loudest person laughing! Katherine Heigl will make you love her all over again! She's so funny and brings such a light to her character in the movie!

If you watched and loved 40 yr old Virgin you must see Knocked Up! Sure it has some crude humor, drug use and uses the F word ALOT, but I guarantee you'll laugh your ass off! I saw this movie with a bunch of friends and even the more conservative ones loved the movie!

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Trying to do better

At posting on my blog! I was doing really great in May but June came, schools out and alot of play dates going on! So here I am almost the middle of the month and not many post for June, sorry!

Hmm let's see what has been going on? Not much really, been trying to get the girls outside on a daily basis when the weather cooperates. They are enjoying the pool and slip n slide though Hailey makes me nervous in the pool. She has done really well so far and really just stands and splashes or sits and plays with the toys. She hates water in her face so immediately freaks out. LOL I find it kinda funny because it can be 1 speck and she screams "mommy towel, please mommy". hehe.

Jess doesn't really like water on her face either but she deals with it since she wants to be in the pool and on the slip n slide. If you have ever been on a slip n slide you know you can't avoid water on your face! Lots of fun takes me back to my childhood.

Hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather!

Outdoor Fun

Why exactly do they call it fun? Who exactly is it fun for? Not for me the parent thats for sure. We ok well I decided that we needed to buy another pool for the girls since the one we had was rather small and round and all they could do was sit in it. So I went to Target this past weekend and got new pool, has a slide, basketball goal, ring toss on it. Sounds neat, looks kinda cool but isn't as big as you think it'll be. I think the size is just fine for them though the slide is to small for Jess and to large for Hailey. Oh well I tried! The slide is removable though, so we can have more roaming room which will work out.

While at Target I ok not really me but Jess decided we needed a slip n slide and a water mat as well, and of course a pump to blow up all this stuff! Gee I spent to much money but I figure I'll need as much activity as I can get for them this summer so they do not drive me crazy. Oh yah and I bought a bubble blower lol. FUN FUN FUN did I mention fun?

So this morning as soon as Hailey got up (6:30 ) she says outside, play outside mama. hmm ok yah but not now, later. Whew saved a few hours for waking up. So she and Jess both proceed to look out the door for the next few hours, outside mama outside. After Calliou I tell Hailey, she seemed ok with this at 9 am, though Calliou doesn't come on til 10 lol guess it's good to not have the concept of time yet.

We did manage to make it outside at 10:30 and both kids played in the pool, splashed each other, cried because the other splashed them and generally didn't listen. I kept telling Hailey to stay in the pool, do you think she listened? NO of course not, she's 2. Ah well they had fun, we stayed out for about an hour and half and then had lunch. Inside playtime and then nap time yippeee! Love nap time NOW that's FUN!. :)

So we'll see what FUN tomorrow brings, hope it's much better than today!

Headaches and Kids

I went to bed with a migraine last night and woke up with it still. So I tell the girls to be quiet my head hurts. I think Ok Jess will listen, she's 6 and Hailey will not. Yah right they are both being hellions and of course making all kinds of noise and screaming and not playing nice. Then what happens? I have to punish them both which of course means my head hurts even more.

Where is that damn calgon when you need it?

Home finally!

Last Thursday we headed out to SC for my sisters graduation, which took a very long 9 hour drive, with 2 kids. Now granted the trip went better than expected thanks to the dvd player we borrowed but it was still a long trip! We arrived late in the day and didn't see the family til even later for dinner.

The next day was the graduation but of course I had to get up bright and early and go to Kohl's to see if I could find some shoes to go with the outfit I had brought. Lucky me I found a great price on some sandals and got 2 pair. Only $9.99 each! I had already picked up a pair I could make do with for $21.00 so this was way better!

Finally back to the hotel where the family stopped by and chatted for an hour or so, by this time it was already 3 pm and we had to be at the graduation at 6 pm. They left at 4 and we had to be at their house by 5 and we had to leave by 5:45 lol. Umm yah ok that was 4 of us to get dressed and over to the house in an hour! Whew we did manage to make it though and the girls looked so cute!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried how the kids would act during the ceremony, well ok just Hailey. Jessica did great at her dads college grad which was umm 5 hours long! Hailey was only 2 months old and did great too! Well in the beginning she and dh walked around til it was time for the ceremony to start. No way was she going to sit still for 2 hours, ok well she didn't even make it but about 15 mins and she was ready to get down. So she and dh walked around the football field for almost 2 hours LOL. Poor guy! It was soo hot, and we didn't have anything to drink for him or Hailey. Thankfully the ceremony only lasted an hour once it got started and then off to the house for the party.

The rest of the weekend was kinda a blur, we didn't do anything, family was to busy so we should have come on home. Next time I will know, it really did hurt my feelings though and then they acted all like whats wrong. Well DUH! Anyways, another story for another day.

We came home on Sunday, which happened to be our 7 yr anniversary stuck in a car for 9 hours! The girls were fairly good though which made the trip go better. We got home and rested for 2 days since hubby was off on Mem. Day. This is the first week kids are out of school, so I need to figure out some fun things to do besides our normal playdates.

I hope that everyone had a great and safe weekend!

Happy Hump Day! LOST Season Finale TONIGHT!

Wow already the middle of the week and still have nothing accomplished. Well ok we do have the clothes washed but have so much more to do for the trip tomorrow. How am I supposed to fit that in and watch the 2 hour season finale of LOST??

I think this will be a long night indeed, up very late no sleep then drive for 8 hours tomorrow after getting up at the crack of dawn. Yes lots of fun! I can't wait! Hmm ok so not really and I wish I had one more day before this all starts.

I am excited about tonights LOST show though, I have been so irritated, stressed and mad at the show this season. Just when I think I have it all figured out they go and add a twist to it! Will Locke or Charlie die? Will the other Losties get shot by Ben and the gang? Is Juliette going to be "good" for good now or is she still plotting? To many questions and I am sure not enough time in this 2 hour episode to answer them all.

Stay tuned and hopefully we'll get the answers that we want and need!

Not enough time in the day!

That's my biggest trouble right now but again my mom says I am the world's best procrastinator! I think I work best under pressure, but usually I have the time to do it even last minute. This time not so sure, I have 2.5 days now to get everything done before the trip on Thurs.

So much to do, wash clothes, clean house, bank, store, pack clothes, cut grass, get oil change, plan a few more play dates for my mom group and so much more. Umm right in 2.5 days, sure so guess who doesn't get much sleep? You are probably saying right now, you could be doing some of this stuff instead of blogging, well I could but that just wouldn't be me!

In the famous words of the Little Engine That Could....I think I can I think I can...

Yet the end to another week!

Well I haven't been to good at writing this week due to my family being sick and then lo and behold I got sick. In between being sick I had to shop for my moms group 3 mom baby shower that happened last night and get the shower organized. To say this past week has been busy is an understatement!

I have so much still to do for our trip this week to SC and I haven't even begun. I guess in the morning I'll make a list of everything I need to accomplish in the next 3 days and pray that I cross them all off! Luckily school is still in for these last 3 days so I will only have to take 1 kiddo with me while trying to run all of these errands.

There's not much else to report so I'll leave on this note..... Here's hoping for a better week!

Happy Belated Mothers's Day

Yes I am way behind in blogging this week, to many sick people and not enough time in the day! I hope all of you mamas out there had a great Mother's Day, mine actually didn't turn out half bad!

I had breakfast cooked for me on Sunday morning, got a couple cards and 2 Cd's and a plate with Jess hand print on it that she made at school. I was quite surprised as I didn't expect anything at all. After a nice relaxing morning we all got dressed and went up to Monte Sano State Park and had a picnic lunch and let the girls run and play. They have a decent playground and it actually wasn't nearly as busy as I thought it would be.

Good thing Mother's Day turned out well, because the next 2 days wasn't so fun. You can read about that in my previous post.

Happy Birthday To Me

Yep that pretty much sums up today's 30th birthday. It sucked and not only did it suck but royally sucked. I have been taking care of a sick hubby for 2 days and a sick child as well. Lucky me, no celebration today, but then again I didn't expect one even if they hadn't been sick.

I slept on the couch last night as did Jess so we didn't catch whatever it is they have, so far so good though I didn't feel great today. No birthday presents, no cake, just a couple phone calls and some message board wishes. Guess that's better than nothing right?

What did I do today? Hmmm besides take care of the sick ones, I have done 4 loads of laundry, changed sheets on the bed, did breakfast, lunch for me and the girls, cooked dinner which hardly anyone ate at all and gave girls baths.

Umm yep Happy Birthday To Me.

TV Shows and My Addiction to Them

Yes I watch TV, probably to much per the standards of society, yep a 4 to 5 hours a week! ACK whatever will I do, rot away to nothing? Doubtful!

So to say I am addicted to TV is wrong, but I am addicted to some TV shows. For instance, I MUST watch LOST every Wednesday night, no interruptions for that 1 hour. This show has been an addiction for me since it first came on, it's my escape for 1 hour. It's an intriguing show, an irritating show, a MUST SEE TV show and at times comedic. I love the characters and the story line, though it's been driving me nuts lately.

Will Locke die? Will Charlie die? Is Jack on the "others" side now? Is Juliette going to change her ways? Will we find out how the "others" got to the island? So many questions and so little time left this season to find out all the answers.

My next addiction is Grey's Anatomy, yes LOVE it and another one of those shows I must watch uninterrupted so I can catch everything. I used to be a huge ER fan, but they kept changing characters so much I had to quit watching, GA has replaced that love!

I tune each week to see what Meredith and McDreamy will do, if Alex will still be the pompous ass he tried to be, will George ever be faithful to his wife, will Izzy find true love again, will Christina and Burke get married and so many more!

Two other shows that I love to watch but don't necessarily think I am addicted, Ugly Betty and October Road. OR just came on this season and has already ended, and I hope for a bring back this summer or fall! UB is about over for the season and yet I am still waiting for Betty to fall in love!

Oh I despise summertime since all the shows go to reruns, but we do get a few new shows that may be worthy of my addiction. Til then!

The big 3-0 is coming!

Whatever will I do when I say goodbye to the 20's? In 5 days I'll turn the big 30 and say goodbye to my 20's and wonder what the 30's life will bring. Will I be more decisive and be a better mom, will I be a better wife? I doubt that another year will do that, that starts inside.

As I look back on my life there are definitely some things I wish I hadn't done and of course some things I wish I had done. The number 1 thing I wish I had done, drop those one sided friendships. You know the ones I mean, the friend that will call you when they are sad, crying, bf broke up with them, parents being mean, the always having issues friends, but when you need a shoulder to cry on they aren't there for you. Those are the ones that are draining, you can't have one sided friendships. True friends will be there by your side no matter what life hands you, and if you are a true friend you'll reciprocate the gesture.

Turning 30 is another milestone in life, some say that's when you become an adult and realize that you need to have a plan for your life. For many they are finishing college in their 20's, have started a career and then a family. For others they didn't go to college, they started working and then started family and no matter which you chose you end up in the same place. Trying to decide did you make the right decisions in life.

I haven't quite figured out how I'll celebrate my 30th birthday yet, but I am sure it'll be just another day, after all it's just another year older. Right?

Terrible Twos

You know you can just tell when you wake up you will have that kind of day? Yep today is it, I thought the morning WAS going fine, only to be misled by my still half asleep brain. The monster err I mean little one has been off and on, whiny, I want, hungry, sleepy, eat, hold me, play, movie, dress me, feed me mood all day!

She got that Little Leap thingy for her birthday, it has DVDs and the controller for babies/toddlers and she likes to play with it even when the disc isn't in. No big deal, so I get it for her, she wants to play, so I try to start the DVD but it will not work. I forgot we switched them out and need to reset it. So while I am trying to reset it, shes screaming, toy I want toy over and over and over. I just gave in and gave it to her and turned the DVD off, the she gets pissed off. Starts screaming MOVIE, MOVIE, MOVIE and I tell her no. So she chunks the controller across the room!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH seriously does she have to do that every time she gets mad? UGH so I took her to time out of course where she will probably fall asleep since I think that's the problem anyways. I was trying to get her to hold out til we got in the car to get Jess from school, BUT doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Naps and chocolate makes everything better right???

Party Order Arrived!

Thankfully it arrived in time for Mother's Day since some of my customers ordered items for their moms. Now to get out there and deliver! I also have my fundraiser order being processed, and hoping it doesn't take but a week or so to get to me, so I can get them shipped out. The fundraiser didn't do as well as the softball team had hoped, but unfortunately online fundraisers do not do as well as traditional ones. I hope they try to do another one later this year, I do think they would get better results.

Though it didn't go well, I do hope to gain 8 new customers out of it, as I didn't make much commission this time. I plan to send business cards, summer catalogs and flyer's out with the orders, so maybe I'll get a few bounce back customers! Maybe I'll stick a 10% coupon in for their next order as well.

I am really trying to get in on the party circuit, but it's proven harder than I expected. I have asked everyone I know and haven't been able to get any booked, but there's still hope! I am not giving up. I'll be looking around for vendor shows too because I think getting the products out there so people can pick it up and look and see how Tupperware has changed in the last few years they will be surprised.

Happy Monday!

Whew made it thru the weekend with sleep and I am sooo happy! This is the first weekend in at least 2 to 3 months that I have slept and felt rested when I woke up on Monday morning. I didn't have that typical Monday Blah, I didn't wake up feeling sluggish or anything.

Today's weather is absolutely beautiful, warm weather, slightly breezy and not a cloud in the sky. Oh how I love Spring, except for the allergy problems. I am still having some issues with that, but some rain would help. OH did I mention school is almost out? Jessica has 12 days left and tech it's only 11 since she will not be there the last day.

We are going to SC for my sisters graduation (high school). Yep we are 12 yrs apart lol my mom was crazy starting over! It's been a fun ride watching her grow up and become a young adult and hard to believe she'll be starting college this fall. She is going to USC in Aiken, made their cheerleading squad which she is super excited about!

Other than that there are no big plans for this month, trying to get some cleaning done, the garage reorganized yet again and hopefully the house painted (outside). I would love to take a mini vacation, but dh and I think we'll try to sneak away for the weekend in June to Chattanooga or Nashville. We'll see what this month brings!

Sleep Sweet Sleep!

I am sooo happy to say I have slept the last 2 nights! I mean really well rested sleep, how awesome is that? Yes it's great! I was suggested by a friend to try Melatonin its a natural sleep aid and so I decided to pick some up over the weekend. I took it on Friday and Sat night and slept soooo wonderfully! I am going to try to NOT take it tonight, to see if my body may have readjusted itself and will go to sleep at a normal time.

I think it's been months since I have slept this well, first it was due to stress, then it was due to toothaches (which now are gone) but I think since I was so used to being up til 2 or 3 in the morning I just could not get my clock set back. I felt so rested this morning and so far there seems to be no side effects from taking the melatonin.

Here's hoping to a wonderful night of sleep!

To A New Beginning

Yes that's how I feel this morning after a long heart to heart talk with my dh last night. We really needed it and it took a year or so to make it happen. Tears, sadness, happiness and laughing and making up does wonders for your marriage and outlook on life.

Sitting down and talking about whether we want to have any more kids turned into a talk we really needed to have. Marriage isn't easy and there's been some very rough times the past year or so, mostly due to me ( I think) but we both share the blame. I for once just listened for close to an hour on what he had to say and didn't interrupt except to say I am sorry. That's not something that comes easy to me when it comes to this type of thing.

Have you ever really sat and listened to your spouse, I mean really listened? No tv, no kids, nothing as a distraction but really sat and focused on each other? If not, I really recommend you do it, you will be surprised on what you learn. I found out that I was pushing to hard and complaining about everything (not tech but it felt like it after he finished talking) and not trying to work on things to make them better.

So after much discussion last night, we both are going to try to reconnect, I am going to try to quit being so critical and he is going to try to be more affectionate by showing not telling me he loves me. We also talked about the last year has affected our kids, how we don't spend enough quality family time together. So we are refocusing on our kids as well and I think they'll be better for it.

Last night was good for us and I hope to report back soon that things have greatly improved.

Finally, a better day!

Well I finally slept more than a few hours last night, nothing great but still better than a couple hours. I didn't feel like a zombie this morning so that was good, though I did sleep in til 8. My playgroup had a Spring Fling today so I had to get moving lol that must have been motivation enough since I haven't been out of the house in about a week.

Today went well, the munchkin did well, she ran and played hard and slept great for her nap! Now if she will stay out of the kitchen trying to eat every 5 mins we'll be good. I swear shes having yet another growth spurt because even when she eats like a pig she'll come back later " I hungry mommy". Cute but seriously after the 3rd time I am done!

We have some storms coming in tonight and tomorrow so I am hoping that it doesn't make my head hurt to bad, but I can already feel the pressure. JOY! Can't you tell and hear my excitement? LOL Um yah that was a bit sarcastic!

Maybe tomorrow I'll have something interesting to write about LOL.

May has arrived

The sun is shining, the kids are still in school for a few more weeks and I am a ray of sunshine... NOT. Another night of not sleeping and my kids waking up at the crack of dawn, yet I get no break from it. My husband knows that I haven't slept well the last week because of my allergies but what does he do? Wake me up to tell me he's leaving and the little one is asleep! OMG I could have killed him. Why would you wake up someone to say I am leaving?? Just leave the freaking house.

So you do know what happened right? She woke up 5 seconds after he walks out of the door. Good thing I was already awake from the dumbass telling me he was leaving. Luckily she's been in a good mood so far, but me not so much.

I think I should get some things accomplished today, answer some emails, get my Tupperware Fundraiser orders tallied up, shower, get dressed, get the girl dressed the list goes on and on. Oh yes and I must go to the store and buy some chips for a Spring Fling party tomorrow, buy Mothers Day Card for my mom and get it sent out in time. If it doesn't get sent today it'll not make it to Hawaii by the 13th.

I would like to get my mom something special, but what? She's been so stressed with my stepdad in Iraq and my sister graduating later this month. She doesn't really need anything (she has more $$ than I do lol) but a card just isn't enough. I sent her flowers for her birthday so can't do those again, plus she flies out of Hawaii the 15th (my birthday) to SC for my sis grad. Hmmmm any ideas?

Another day of feeling like crap

I can't seem to shake this sinus/allergy problem I have. I don't think its yet another sinus infection but who knows. I have had several in the last year and never had issues before now. My head is achy, my nose hurts between my eyes and head.

I haven't been sleeping well at all, last night I think I fell asleep around 5 am only to be woken up at 8 am, 9 am and finally I am like leave me the hell alone. My husband knows I haven't slept in about a week due to the coughing fits that last all night and yet he still finds the need to come and bug me. Yes I know you need to go to work, Yes I know I need to get up, BUT you know I didn't sleep at all. Ugh men are so dumb sometimes.

Lucky me I have a 2 yr old at home that's not listening worth crap today and here it is noon and I have yelled at her at least 3 times and I just got up at 10!

Oh well, I need to sleep but can't because my luck she'll not nap. Til tomorrow.

Tupperware Party = Successful

I recently hosted my own Tupperware party and it turned out pretty good. I have $400 in sales and only had 5 come to the party! I ended up getting a lot of outside orders from those who wanted to come but couldn't. I get the great hostess benefits plus my normal commission so I think I did pretty well!

I also have a online fundraiser going on right now for a local softball team. They are doing pretty good as well. April will end with a bang for me and I will be good on my sales quota til the next 4 months roll around.

On one hand I am not really pushing to many more sales right now, and trying to hold off til August when I need them again, but I sure as heck will not turn anything down!

If you are interested in hosting a Tupperware party online or maybe a catalog party just let me know! I'll be glad to help you get started on the way to earn FREE Tupperware.

Under the weather

Well I have been quite under the weather the last few weeks it seems. I can't get rid of the allergy and sinus problems even with my Allegra. There are nights I just lay in bed coughing and coughing, so of course my throat is sore too. We are finally getting more summer like weather but it's not been enough rain to help the pollen.

This is by far the worst year for allergies, everyone I know seems to be having problems even the kiddos. Jess is having headaches almost daily and to think shes this young having problems I would imagine they will continue as mine have.

I hope to get back to posting more soon.

Made it to the dentist....

on Friday 13th of all days. I had my appt with the oral surgeon at 8:30 am to have 2 back teeth removed because they were really bad off. I really needed the root canals, build up and crowns but heck even with insurance we are talking over $500 for the 2, so I had to get them pulled and will save up to get bridges done soon I hope.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled about 3 yrs ago and you know for that they put you under but I really didn't like the way I felt when I woke up. I had trouble breathing and basically had a panic attack. So for this appt I had the choice of knocked out, IV Sedation or just Local. I chose IV Sedation.

I arrived at the dentist on time and they immediately took me to a room and started working on me. Heart monitors, bp cuff and tried to get the IV started. They tried 4 times and were still unable to get it and of course they busted one vein and its all puffy and bruised and my arm has a nasty bruise as well. Couldn't get it, so the Dr suggested Nitrous. He said it would help relax me a bit and I thought that's probably a good idea!

Well they get it started and it did not do well for me, I started getting panicky, felt like I couldn't breathe, was dizzy and seeing spots, so we had to stop that. Decided to do it with just the Novocaine and I was still very nervous at this point. The Dr started working on my worst tooth, one that had been broken off a bit already. I didn't feel anything but alot of pressure but every time he tried to pull it another piece broke off and I could hear it. Makes me shudder to even think about it now. That tooth was the worst and probably took 10 minutes to get out with each root having to be done separate and they actually had to cut some out. I have stitches in it.

He then tells me he's not going to do the other he's not sure if I can handle it because I was sort of freaking out. It didn't hurt a bit but I was just nervous and my bp was up and heart going fast. I told him he had to do it today because I wasn't coming back! So he let me calm down for a few and came back and did the 2nd one in like 2 mins. Didn't hurt and it didn't break off.

The fun doesn't stop there! They gave me pain meds which I started taking around 12 noon that day and kept taking every 4 hours so I wouldn't be in pain. That night when I got ready for bed I started having panic attacks as soon as I closed my eyes. When that finally stopped I slept for hours and hours. Got up at 7 and took another pill and the panic attack started again when I tried to go back to sleep. I felt sick, dizzy and thought I would pass out. So my hubby called the Dr and they said to stop taking the meds.

Luckily for me I haven't really been in any pain, it's tender on my cheeks and gums but it doesn't really hurt. I have been taking Tylenol but am getting some more Motrin today for it. Hope to be eating some real foods by Monday as right now I am living off of mac n cheese and other soft foods.

Happy Easter.....

Happy Easter hmmm well not so sure about the Happy part. You know how it is when you wake up and you can tell it's going to be one of those days? Well that's how my day started out. I just knew it would not be a good day, I went to bed with a headache last night and it was still lingering this morning.

Never the less I get up and try to be in a better mood up at 9, hubby was going to make pancakes and bacon and then the girls open their Easter baskets. So I am sitting and waiting, he gets them opening their baskets and by 10 he decides to start breakfast. By this time I am starving and the phone rings. It's my dad who comes over just about every Sunday to see the girls as he works Mon-Fri and I generally don't mind. However this so called wonderful husband is just starting breakfast, its 10, we all still have our pj's on and relaxing and he tells my dad sure come over in about 20 mins. I am like what the hell? I am sitting here not showered, have not ate nor got dressed. Why would you tell him to come over in 20 mins?

So that immediately put me in a pissy mood, I did not eat breakfast or get the girls dressed in their Easter dresses. I don't know what time my dad got here but I decided to stay in the bedroom the whole day. The girls stayed out all day and it would have been peaceful except for the dh decided to keep coming in and asking did I need anything. At one point I told him yes a new husband that had half a brain.

Well let's just say we still aren't speaking and he just irritates me more when I look at him. I hope to take the girls to get pictures soon as we didn't do it for Easter, so I guess Spring ones will have to do. Luckily their dresses aren't very Eastery......sigh.

How much is yours worth?

Your blog that is! Not to bad considering I just started putting it out there lol. Go find out how much yours is!

What a wonderful day!

Well besides the temps being below freezing this morning, it's been a wonderful day! I got a phone call from the lead contact person for a girls softball team that I have been talking to for a little over a week now. They want to the fundraiser! I am soo excited to have this opportunity because it will get my name, Tupperware out there to the public and hopefully some repeat customers! We gear up for the Tupperware fundraiser on April 15th and it runs thru April 30th, and what's really great is the girls team earns 40% of the sales they make.

I can't wait to see how it all goes, but I do know that every parent will buy something, because you know how it is if you are a parent. I just recently spent $80 for a FR so my dd could go to some big party because you had to sell at least 10 things to go. BLAH I don't like how they make you feel bad if you can't spend that money and your kid gets upset.

Anywho! I am also having my first Tupperware party on April 22 and so far I have 8 guests coming and still about 5 I haven't heard back from and some outside orders coming in! I tell you this April is ROCKING!

How to get a toddler to eat...??

Thats the question of the day!

I have a 2 yr old dd, who will eat but generally not what I want her to eat! We have to fight about it everyday and it's really getting old.

She likes: toast, cereal, breakfast bars, yogurt, corn, pork chop, cheese, mac n cheese, sometimes chicken, bread, crackers, cookies etc. .....

The list of "don't likes" is SO long that it would take me days to write. lol. So the question is how do you get them to eat when they are so picky? I swear you would think I was a first time mom with no clue, but I have a 6.5 yr old dd too but she was never this way! She would eat almost anything you put in front of her and still does.

Any advice or suggestions? I keep giving her the meals we eat now but half the time she just plays with it. We'll be taking multivitamins soon!

First Tupperware Party Scheduled!

I finally did it! I went ahead and scheduled myself an open house Tupperware party! I'll be my own host which means I get all the great hostess benefits and freebies plus my commission!

I have invited over 20 people so I am hoping for a great turnout and big sales! At least enough to make my goal for this quarter. I really am happy that I decided to join Tupperware as I have always loved the products and feel that this is something I can totally be passionate about.

Great incentives, trips and cars and other awards plus working the hours I want to work!

I am also working with a fundraiser lead and hoping to secure my first Tupperware fundraiser and make contacts with it as well.

I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!

Happy April

Well the new month is upon us and we must go to Spring but I can't tell by the COLD weather coming this week! Though again we hit summer temps in the 90's just a week ago and later this week it'll be in the 60's.

My moms group is planning our Easter Egg hunt on Sat and of course we were hoping for 70's weather and now it'll be mid 60's which isn't bad. I know both of my girls are looking forward to the egg hunt, as we aren't going to any other ones this year. They are always over crowded, the kids don't get many eggs, it's just not fun! We will have arts and crafts, egg hunt and games and of course great Easter food!

Not much else going on here, except for I did have a great lead for a fundraiser, but unfortunately it didn't work out because we do not offer online fundraisers at this time. So maybe in the future TW will get caught up on that and let us offer them as many places would rather do it that way.

That's about it for my random thoughts today! Enjoy!

American Idol Boycott

I am at the brink of boycotting AI, there's no reason at all for the Sanjaya to be on this show. He should have never been brought to Hollywood nor the top 12.

I don't really care if the show is rigged and for the life of me I can't imagine why Howard Stern or any of his cronies really care either. It's not like its hurting them by letting the real singers win. The fact of the matter is that Sanjaya can't sing his way out of a paper bag, does his hair like a girls and overall is a boy with NO TALENT.

I truly think this is IT for American Idol as they can't keep having seasons like this where they allow the worst singers to stay. They need to re-evaluate the voting system and only allow 1 call per household, then they can't have all these bad voting scenarios.

Join me in boycotting if Sanjaya stays next week.

Middle of March already??

Time sure does fly when you are busy! Ok so I haven't really been to busy but I swear it was just my dd's birthday and here we are in the middle of March. What's worse is 2 months from today I turn......30. OY! I swear there are days I can't believe I am going to be 30, that's like OLD. HA! Ok that's what I used to think when I was a kid. Now I don't really feel like it's that old at all...because it's NOT!

How to celebrate the "30" birthday? Go out with friends for dinner and drinks, make hubby take me out? or stay home and be a hermit? Hmmm well the first 2 sounds pretty good but I don't want to be a hermit!

Well I am sure whatever happens will be ok as long as I don't have some kind of breakdown from turning 30.....

American Idol...LIVE

Yep just IDOL as in 1, Lucky for me I got to go see Taylor Hicks in concert last night! What makes it even better, it was FREE for me!

Taylor is awesome, let me say if you are a TH fan you really need to see him in concert! He rocks and really gives a great performance. I am so upset with myself because I left my camera sitting at home, but hey I was there and had fun.

I definitely will pay to see him the next time he comes here, after all he's a true Bama boy and how could I not support our Bama Boys!

SOUL PATROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Happy Birthday

My baby is no longer a baby! She turned 2 on Sunday and boy how time flies. She is a typical toddler, into everything, hates the word NO and can give hugs and kisses like no other! It has been a blessing being able to be home and watch her grow up and unfortunately it's gone by to fast! I can remember her birth just like it was yesterday and it is hard to believe it's been so long ago now.

Here are a few pics, so enjoy and if you have children, slow down and take some extra time with them , they will be gone soon enough!

March Means Tornadoes

Well the time has come for tornado season and if you remember my post about snow you know I have slight rants about tornado season.

On March 1, everyone in Alabama was under a tornado watch for pretty much the entire day. This storm system that came thru here was the same one up North dumping ice and snow all over the Northeast areas.

Schools all over Alabama decided to dismiss the children early, between 11 am and 12 pm for most, some were closed all together. The reason behind this is because the worst part of the weather was supposed to hit when the kids were getting out of school. So rather than have them caught on buses, in cars, or walking home they would rather send them home early. Which makes complete sense to me.

Unfortunately the students in Enterprise Alabama were not so lucky. They were in school, though down near Montgomery was supposed to be one of the worst hit areas, and they did not dismiss them at 10 or 11. Instead they kept them there, and close to 1 had decided to let the students go, but then ended up cancelling that because the "approaching tornado" was getting closer to them. This part makes sense, I mean we definitely didn't want these high school students on buses and in cars when the tornado hit.

Around 1 pm the tornado hit Enterprise High School, the kids were in the hallways and some were in the gym, though that was not the place to be. That is not safe, as there is no support in the roof in the gym. The school was pretty much destroyed and 8 students died in the tornado.

This was a sad day in Alabama and now I have to wonder though if they had let those students go at 11 am like most of the state of Alabama would they still be alive today? Yes tornadoes are known to strike at any place any time, so it is possible even if they had been home they may not have made it, however we will never know that.

I just want to say to all of those people that complain Oh I had to miss a day of work, I had to give up my free time to go get my kid out of school, be thankful that you were able to do so and that we didn't get the tornado weather like we were supposed to.

Please take a few minutes and pray for the families in Alabama who lost their children on March 1st.
